The first myth of hypnosis is what a hypnotist looks like. When you hear the word hypnosis, you may picture the mysterious figure popularized in movies, comic books, and television. This ominous, goateed man waves a pocket watch back and forth, guiding his subject into a semi-sleep, zombie-like state. Once hypnotized, the subject is compelled to obey, no matter how strange or immoral the request. Muttering "Yes, master," the subject does the hypnotist's evil bidding. This is a totally a fairy tale. I am professional hypnotist and took me years of study to get professionally knowledge.

The myth is that when you are under hypnosis, you are in a zombie like trance and can be made to say or do something against your will. This is completely wrong because you can’t be made to do anything against your values or belief system.
A popular myth is that people who get hypnotized are weak minded. This is the opposite you need to have normal average intelligence and follow hypnotherapist instructions

Many misconceptions exist about hypnosis and much of this comes from what we see from Hollywood movies and on television. You must remember that the directors of these movies and television programs are trying to entertain people, rather than inform them about the subject of hypnosis.

This results in people developing false impressions and total misunderstandings about hypnosis.
