Science of Hypnosis
The fact is hypnosis is a proven technique that helps normal people deal with normal issues like stress, smoking, poor self esteem etc. It is scientifically proven that when people are in a trance, the brain waves are in an Alpha state also known as a subconscious. Studies confirm that during hypnosis, subjects are not in a sleeplike state but are awake. Here the person is 88% more alert than in a normal state of consciousness. In the Alpha state you leave behind a status of awareness and consciousness to focus on the moment. For this reason, hypnosis therapy works because it is like the first time that you really listen and accept and save in your mind because of being 88% more alert. The Beta state is normal consciousness. Hypnosis was approved for use by the British Medical Association in 1955 and by the American Medical Association in 1958.
People believe that people that get hypnotized are weak mind and the truth is quite the opposite.
Who can be Hypnotized? Anyone who has the desire to change and is willing and able to follow the hypnotherapist instructions can be hypnotized. You don’t have to believe in hypnosis, only follow instructions. The only ways a person cannot go into hypnosis are: mentally handicapped, fear or don’t follow instructions
How Hypnosis Works
Hypnosis is a quick and proven therapy that can change your life. This therapy is similar to others therapies, but with the difference that other therapies can take months or even years to effect a change because the work is done in conscious level. Hypnosis therapy is effective because it work on the subconscious mind. The work is done in subsconcious level and when people are in hypnosis /subconscious level, people are 88% more alert and receptive than conscious level/normal state. We have two minds, the conscious and the subconscious, and it is when these two minds work against each other that problems arise: like addictions, jealous, anger etc. Hypnosis harmonizes these two minds. I will provide a short explanation of hypnosis and dispel some of the myths that the media portrays about hypnosis and how people respond to hypnosis.
Hypnosis is a process of communicating with the person’s mind that allows the subconscious and conscious mind to believe the same thing. Hypnotherapists help clients get to a mental state where the client has heightened focus, concentration and inner absorption, and is able to accept positive suggestions; consequently the person changes their wrong thinking into positive thinking and begins acting positive. When the client is in a hypnotic state, he/she feels calm and relaxed, and can concentrate intensely on a specific thought, memory, feeling or sensation while blocking out distractions. The client is more open to suggestion during hypnosis, but their free will remains intact. The person is never asleep, and the five senses are 88%more awake and receptive. Studies confirm that during hypnosis, subjects are not in a sleeplike state but are totally awake.
Hypnosis can be used to modify the client’s perceptions, behaviors, sensations and emotions, and help improve the client’s health and well being.
